What is CSA?

CSA - Community Supported Agriculture.

This is a way to create a relationship with a local farm and receive produce weekly or bi-weekly from this farm. The structure varies from farm to farm, but generally you will be a "member" or "subscriber" and will either pay for a season in advance (most likely) or have weekly/bi-weekly payments. In return, you will receive a box of produce (your choice in size).

This is a great chance to get familiar with local roots and what is really available to us at different times of the year. It's also a great opportunity to cook seasonally. Many participating farms will offer tours, classes, and other gatherings.

Each farm has a host of locations and you can find your nearest farms and pick-up locations, along with some additional information on CSA's, by following this site:

We recently signed up at Full Circle Farm in Carnation, WA and are looking forward to our first box :) Can't wait for spring asparagus and summer berries!
