Busy yet casual week
Just wanted to drop in and say hi. It's been busy at work this week and we've been pretty casual in the evenings.
Sydmo's 4th birthday is on the 29th and we're celebrating this weekend. I'm super excited to hang with the birthday girl :) I'll post pictures after the weekend.
I'm 17 weeks today and am maybe starting to show a bit. Still fitting in my jeans, but feeling pretty full. My yoga sweats are enjoyable :) I haven't felt the baby yet, but I know it's right around the corner. He should be able to hear things now so I've been playing the piano for him. I secretly hope he will continue to enjoy the piano and maybe I'll be able to soothe him to sleep with it once he's born. We shall see. [knock on wood] my headaches seem to be dwindling. I can only pray it keeps on that track. Oh & I found a couple patterns to knit for him. No big projects, but I'd like to whip up some "baby legs".... basically baby leg warmers. Laugh all you want, but they're so great for keeping the legs warm when you go to change the babe and don't want to take their whole romper off.
Anyway.... Hope everyone has a good weekend. I'll definitely post pictures of our weekend's festivities.
Much love.

Marriage Clarifications
OK, so I probably didn't do a very good job of alerting the press on this one, but here goes:
Chris and I are legally married as of 1/9/09. We went to the King County Courthouse and made it official. We kept it a very intimate and casual experience which was perfect for the two of us. I don't have any photos to share with you. I hope you will forgive me.
We will be celebrating with a very small group of friends and family early March and those plans are in the works.
No, we're not the most traditional of couple's you will meet. But we're very happy and feel very blessed to be Mr. & Mrs. King.

we'rehavingababyit'saboy
We're having a baby BOY!!! Miles Nicolas is a happy crazy swimmer dude. He swam around so well we could even tell he's a boy. Our appointment went great. We have another in a month and at that time will have an hour and 15 minute Ultrasound. It will be fun to watch a movie of our baby ;) He's as healthy as he can be at 15 weeks and has plenty of room to move around (for now).
I promised pictures and here they are:

Prego - Week 15
Week 15 today!
About the baby: Our baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces. She/he's busy moving amniotic fluid through their nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in their lungs begin to develop. Their legs are growing longer than their arms now, and she/he can move all of their joints and limbs. Although their eyelids are still fused shut, they can sense light.
About Mama: I have some of my energy back. Headaches have been dragging me down, but I finally have an appetite and if you know me at all, you'd know I definitely love food. We get to see our little one on the monitor tomorrow!! This alone is enough excitement to keep me going. I haven't started showing yet, but I'm sure that will happen soon enough. I can't wait to start feeling the baby kick and move and all that good stuff :)
* Will post pictures of our U/S soon.

Yummy Food
I just remembered how much I LOVE root vegetables. It isn't until Winter that I see them, get a craving, buy a bunch from the market, do some roasting, and enjoy. I picked up some turnips from the market on Monday and did the following:
Pre-heat oven to 450
Put about 2 tblsp butter in your baking pan
Bake for a couple minutes till melted and beginning to brown
Mix in a few tsp Balsamic Vinegar
Toss turnips (sliced about 1.5-2" thick and the big pieces quartered, medium pieces halved)
Roast for 20 minutes
Remove from oven & toss in a bit of Thyme & a couple dashes of salt
Roast for another 20-30 minutes depending on size of turnips
While I was at the market I ran into one of my all time favorite fruits: the Champagne Mango
I cannot even begin to tell you how amazing these mangoes are. You will just have to try one.
Thankfully my cravings seem to be of the healthy kind so far :)
